what’s on my mind
A few things, actually!
First, I got some great publishing news that I hope to be able to share more about early next year. Here’s a little hint:
Second, I’ve decided to embark on a rereading journey in 2025 that I’m calling “Origin Stories.” I found the romance genre a bit later in life compared to many readers I know. It wasn’t until 2019, in my late twenties, that I read my first. But I have read hundreds since then (and have written a few too!). So I thought it might be interesting to revisit some of the earliest ones that I got my hands on, my introductions to the genre, and see what I notice about them now versus what stuck out to me about them back then. I’m going to be doing this mostly in my Instagram stories, so please do follow me there if you’re interested. I’ll keep a highlight going so they’re easy to find. And maybe I’ll do a summary here at the end of the year too.
Third, I hope that you’re doing well. I know this year has been A Lot for many people. It certainly was for me. I’ve been thinking a lot about how grateful I am—for my family, our health, that I get to write books for a living and be part of the wonderful community that is Romancelandia. And I’m grateful for you, and that you’re here with me now. Since we probably won’t chat again before the new year, please know I’m sending you all of my wishes for a 2025 that exceeds all of your expectations.

The Happy Medium ebook is currently on sale for the first time ever. So if you’ve been waiting to get a copy of your own, now is your chance! You can grab it from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Apple Books, Books-A-Million, Google Books, or Kobo.
Still looking for a present for someone in your life? If you’re not married to it arriving before December 25th, you can still get signed/personalized copies of Mrs. Nash’s Ashes and Happy Medium from Curious Iguana. Preorders of Finders Keepers are also available. A reminder that they are discounted and come signed and personalized, with an exclusive 4x6 art print! Imagine the nice little note you can write in a card to someone telling them you got them this for the holidays and now they have to wait until June to actually receive it!
Also, a huge thank you to all of the folks who made Happy Medium the top selling book at Curious Iguana this year, and me the top selling author for the second year in a row. The support of the local community means so very much to me, especially that of the wonderful booksellers at Curious Iguana.

you should check out
My husband and I just saw the Improvised Shakespeare Company at the Kennedy Center in DC. It was so much fun, I think we’re going to make it an annual tradition to go every December. If they are coming to your city, definitely go see them. And if you can’t make it to a show, you can watch their episode of Game Changer on Dropout.
Okay. Happy holidays! Love you all! xSA
